I embarked on my globetrotting adventures in 2016 when I relocated from my native Romania, carrying with me a heart brimming with an insatiable curiosity to explore new terrains. Since then, I have stamped my passport with over 30 countries, each holding a distinct tale woven in its unique culture and landscape.

But amidst the cacophony of bustling cities and towering skyscrapers, I have always found a profound sense of peace and connection in smaller communities. Growing up in a Romanian village nurtured in me an enduring affection for the unique tapestry of life that only villages can offer. The intimate gatherings, the community bonds, and the richer connection to nature are threads that weave the vivid canvas of village life, offering a glimpse into a simpler yet deeply fulfilling lifestyle.

As someone who champions social economic development, driven by a professional background steeped in understanding and supporting the structures of society, I have naturally gravitated towards learning how small communities foster resilience, unity, and a harmonious rhythm of life. This endeavor became somewhat of a homecoming for me, echoing the purity and solidarity of my upbringing.

My journey took a more centered focus in England, where, confined by the lockdown rules, I ventured into the heart of over 100 villages. Each visit was more than just a discovery; it was a reminder of my roots, a reconnection with the joyous simplicity that mirrored my childhood playgrounds, woven with tight-knit communities and boundless green fields that witnessed countless laughter and cherished memories.

But this Spring, my project assumed a new layer of significance. Confronted with a cancer diagnosis, I grasped the urgency to delve deeper into this journey, not just as a path of discovery but as a healing trajectory. ‘We Visit Villages’ metamorphosed into a therapeutic odyssey, offering me solace and strength as I navigate through this personal challenge. It has become a space of hope, resilience, and a testament to the beauty of life, captured in the vibrant hues of village landscapes and the warm smiles of the locals.

With a spirit proud of its roots and enriched with the wisdom of village social dynamics, I invite you to immerse yourselves in ‘We Visit Villages.’ Together, we will unravel the tales ensconced in the heart of these communities, embracing the tranquil pace of village life, a soothing balm in a world laden with complexities.

I look forward to sharing this beautiful, enriching, and hopeful journey with each one of you.

Join me as we venture into a world untamed by the rush of modernity, where every stone, tree, and pathway tells a story, promising not just a journey through scenic vistas, but a healing expedition nourished by the deep roots of community and the beauty of simplicity.
