How many villages have we visited?

How many villages have we visited?

In today’s world, numbers seem to be all that matters.

How many countries have you been to? How many followers do you have?

Or in our case – how many villages have we visited?

But for us, the number isn’t the most significant aspect. We measure our experiences differently.

We don’t solely go by numbers; we prioritize the experience itself.

For instance, we might visit a village five or six times, or perhaps experience the same village across different seasons. Every visit offers a unique feeling.

We live in a world where numbers often dictate value.

So, if you were to ask me how many villages we’ve visited, my response would be, “too many to count, yet not as many as I’d like.”

For us, visiting villages is all about immersing ourselves in the experience they offer, rather than just ticking a box and moving on.

But for those who are curious about statistics – here are some numbers:

Since the inception of this project, we’ve visited approximately 32 villages in the Cotswolds alone, and around 20 more across England, Wales, and Scotland. Including the villages in Tuscany (around 10), Madeira Island (about 5), and Romania, our tally is quite impressive.

But what does that signify?

Does it make us experts? Does it label us as influencers?

That’s debatable…

What’s certain is our commitment to this project. We’ll continue visiting more villages and revisiting those we particularly enjoyed, capturing the essence of local and rural life.

As we progress, our aim is to share with you, our dear readers, the stories that these villages tell. And by that, we mean:

  • Highlighting activities you can partake in within a particular village.
  • Discovering hidden gems where you can relish a delightful meal.
  • Recommending unique spots for a memorable overnight stay.

We hope you’ll cherish these tales as much as we do.

Join us on a journey you won’t forget.
